Thu Hoang's Blog Introduction
About me
Hi! I'm Thu Hoang, currently a senior at Everglades High School. This is my sixth year living in America. I was originally based in Hue, Vietnam, and I moved to America with an open heart. Now, it's a part of my life forever. I grew up doing charity work and volunteering at a temple as a Buddhist. The upcoming occasion is the Vu Lan Festival, and I am one of the dance performers. I'm excited but also a bit nervous (imagine if I mess up on stage TvT). In my free time, I love to chill and play instruments like the guitar, ukulele, or piano. I also absolutely love playing video games as they bring me joy and spark my creativity. My favorite sport is badminton (like many other Asians). I can't wait to put myself out there and integrate into a like-minded community.
Why Am I taking AICE Media Studies?
At first, I wasn't sure about the class; it was my alternative choice as I needed more credits for the AICE diploma. However, after watching a Level A student's film on the first school day, I became deeply intrigued by the course. Throughout my high school career, I have always been the video editor, which has given me many opportunities and invaluable experience in filmmaking. But I realized that simply editing wasn’t enough for me—I wanted to understand the entire filmmaking process, from the initial concept to the final product. I’m eager to dive into every aspect of this class, learning and experimenting with new techniques to elevate the quality of my work. I can confidently say that I’ve found the perfect class to help me grow as a filmmaker and invest in my eager.
